Do you guys still play FF VII?

Not sure if this have been discussed before? But if you guys played FF 7 you knew that Aeris will die, (it's part of the storyline), now what amuses me the most was when everyone online was trying to find a way to "revive" Aeris and even made up some damn secret/code crap xD hahahaha!

But onto something more serious, if there is a way Aeris could be revive in the game, how do you guys think the story will unfold?

Maybe you should LJ-cut this post because of a huge fricken spoiler for possible members that maybe haven't played FFVII yet. Most people know about it already, but I'm sure there are some out there that don't.

Anyhoot, I think the story would have become utter crap if Aerith was revived. Let's face it, the reason everyone is so passionate about saving the world like they said they were going to do, was because Sephiroth's clone 5,682 (random number) killed Aerith.

Ah I never thought of cutting it, thanks for the head up! In any case, I thought people wanted to revive Aeris for the sake of maxing her stats out (and getting the final limit break). But it turned out that most of them wanted to alter the ending. My bad.

Heh, I do remember all the mags offering prizes for whoever could find a way to bring back Aerith. Similar to Phantasy Star II's Nei, you could bring her back, but only through a code. And it wasn't exactly the greatest-working code.

If she could have been revived(story alteration-wise), she most likely would have ended up having to travel into the lifestream to utilize its power.

Meaning her fate was to die anyway. ^_~

If she had been revived, I don't think I'd like the game half as much. I love Aeris (cosplay her I do) but there was something poetic, something important about her death. It brought the game to reality (or as realistic as fantasy video games can get, anyhow). Her death was so emotional and 'bringing her back' would ruin the point.

I can imagine her not dying in the first place though. If she hadn't I don't think the game would have been as good, still, but better than some dumb revival thing. Hang on, no, I change my mind. Sort of. I can imagine her not dying but I can't imagine her staying with Cloud & Co. throughout the whole game. I think she would leave or something, to go do something to help save the Planet that only she could do, etcetc. Or like hly_drgn_swrd said, 'join the Lifestream' somehow.

Oh yeah. And Aeris can't be revived, though I'm sure everyone knows that. Except with a gameshark, of course.

I would prefer if she passed on though, I never really use her

1. She's weak
2. She easily get defeated
3. Her Limit Break aren't that great

But in any case, if there is indeed a way to revive (like a sidequest) Aeris and there's an alternate ending to the game, I would go for it!

Well, she's weak physically, but she's got the best magic ability out of anyone else. I always used her as my healer. And you didn't like her limit breaks? ;-; Great Gospel was so excellent. Probably my favorite limit break out of them all. Helluva lot of fun.

The "revive Aeris" sidequest? XD That's kind of funny for some reason... like Yuffie sidequest... only it's reviving Aeris... /blabber

If Aeris hadn't died, who would summon the Lifestream at the end to save the Planet? I don't think she needed to be dead to summon Holy, but she needed to be a part of the Lifestream to do the former. Debateable, but I think so.

The white materia? I think that's the purpose of the white materia, no? As for the lifestream um....... It's debateable

The purpose of the white materia was... to be dead? Well, Sephiroth summoned Meteor with the Black materia, and that was before -he- died. Being as they are opposites I think it would be the same general process of summoning - go to a place with lots of spiritual energy (forgotten capital, knowlespole [Crater]), summon. I dunno. But we're kinda getting off topic. ^__^

In my opinion, I would love to see Aerith live. But the importance of her death to the storyline is crucial. It makes the plot thicken more.

I would like to see a happy ending with people having babies :} but haha.. that's really out of reality.

I agree with what Aidan (hly_drgn_swrd) said. That was her purpose in life.. to travel to the lifestream and help Cloud and his friends as much as she could.
If anything.. she is not weak. Definately not in spirit. She sacrificed a lot. Even for Marlene's health at one time.
Possibly the only thing weak about her is her body.. physically. Can't blame her. I'm the same.
p.s.- If they revived Aerith, it would cheapen her importance and death.
